Looking to plan your summer trip? Thinking of going to Cornwall? You’ve come to the right place! This week I’m sharing my top 10 places to visit in Cornwall.
10. Boscastle
Located on the North coast, this beautiful village is a great stop to explore for a few hours and take in the surrounding.
9. Port Isaac
The location for filming Doc Martin this village has plenty of buildings you’ll recognise from the series. The village operates a park and ride service due to its popularity.
8. Padstow
Fancy fish and chips? Padstow is home to one of the first Rick Stein’s fish and chip restaurant. Worth a stop here to explore the town, walk to the beach and take in the views of the estuary. There is also a cycle path from here if you fancy exploring by bike. The village has plenty of accommodation.
7. St Ives
Fancy visiting a gallery? There’s the Tate in St Ives. Or you could opt to spend the day on the beach, of course there plenty of shops to explore in this seaside town too.
6. Mousehole
Located on the south coast, Mousehole is a great stop. There are lovely coastal walks from here, a harbour to watch the fishing boats in or an ice cream shop or two.
5. St Michael’s Mount
You’ll need to check the tide times if you are planning on visiting St Micheal’s Mount. At low tide you can walk along the walk way to this island but at high tide you’ll be surrounded by water. It is possible to get a boat across if times don’t work out. Lots to explore when you get there including the gardens and castle.
4. Lizard Point
Want to see some nature? Lizard Point is a great for spotting seals and other mammals that call the sea home. There’s some lovely walks here, remember to pay the lighthouse a visit.
3. Mevagissey
Located on the south coast this small village has a beautiful harbour and is well worth a stop on your journey.
2. Trelissick
Fancy visiting some gardens? This National Trust house and gardens is a great place to visit.
1. Lanhydrock, Bodmin
Located in mid Cornwall, another National Trust house and gardens well worth a stop if you are in the area.
Hope you have a great time exploring this beautiful county.
Until next time, happy travelling.
